I have a combined class of 1st- & 2nd-grade special ed kiddos, so for the new first graders, we start with number recognition & we also check to see if our students understand the concept of one-to-one correspondence. Second graders can work on addition & subtraction.
ReplyDeleteI start with place value as well.
ReplyDeleteI always start out every year with Place Value, but my 5th grade team hasn't gotten together yet to do some long-term planning. It will be interesting to see what everyone decides for this year. :)
